Sarah Miles
Nude

When a talented actress’s artistic imperative intersects with her impulse to shed her clothing, the God of skintertainment smiles, such as He often has during the inspired nude performances of seriously stripping thespian Sarah Miles. Born at the outset of World War II, the amazing lady Miles matured into a look of distressed sensuality and almost painful erotic longing, a demeanor that suited her long-limbed, thin-hipped form and medium-sized chest risers. After establishing her credentials on the London stage, Sarah migrated to Hollywood productions in the very early 1960s, almost always attached to projects of advanced artistic merit, which meant that she could be expected to become unattached to her clothing. She started out small, baring a bit of her beautiful breasts in Ryan’s Daughter (1970) and Lady Caroline Lamb (1972), and built her skin-showing into a crescendo. Her alfresco toplessness in The Man Who Loved Cat Dancing (1973) and nautical nakedness in The Sailor Who Fell from Grace with the Sea (1976) were considered daring for their time, but Sarah’s greatest dare was yet to come. In Steaming (1985), Sarah, well into her 40s, exposed tons of bush, butt, boobs (which were holding up remarkably well), and an arch of bare foot both high and mighty. This was her–and Mr. Skin‘s–climax. There were no more skinema appearances from Ms. Miles, and few cinema appearances. Some of her most recent credits are A Ghost in Monte Carlo (1990), Days of Grace (2001), and Interlude City (2016). We’d walk a thousand Miles to see a newly bare Sarah.
